Hello guys! After making the BTR-80 and BTR-3 , I received quite a few comments asking for one particular improvement: “ Can the wheels actually rotate on the next APC ?” Well… this time I decided to try it. 😁 Meet the BTR-22 , one of Russia’s newer-generation 8×8 armored personnel carrier concepts. You can think of it as a simpler and more affordable alternative to the much more ambitious K-17 Boomerang platform. But for this model, the thing I wanted to experiment with the most wasn’t actually the armor or the turret. 🛞 THE WHEELS CAN FINALLY ROTATE Yep. 😁 After the feedback I received from the BTR-80 and BTR-3, I remake the wheel system so the wheels on this BTR-22 can actually rotate freely . It sounds like a small feature, but I think it makes a huge difference when handling the model, posing it in a diorama, or simply rolling it around your desk like a kid again. This is basically my first experiment with this kind of system on an APC, so I’m really interested to hear what you guys think. If it works well for everyone, I’d love to bring this feature into more wheeled armored vehicles in the future. 👀 🔥 MORE FLEXIBLE TURRET I also improved the turret movement quite a bit compared with some of my previous APC models. The turret can now: Rotate 360° Elevate and depress the gun So you have much more freedom when posing the vehicle for display or diorama scenes.
