SkadisForge — Modular IKEA SKÅDIS Pegboard Generator Version: 1.1.0 | 2026-09-08 SkadisForge is a MakerWorld customizer for creating rectangular and square pegboard modules compatible with the IKEA SKÅDIS slot layout. Build a small standalone board or combine complete modules into a larger wall-mounted or desktop installation. Each module keeps a full outline and its own mounting points. Hidden rear plates connect neighboring modules with M4 x 12 screws and captured M4 nuts. Depending on filament prices, material choice, and print settings, a printed board may cost less or more than a ready-made IKEA board. SkadisForge generates repeated full boards and the rear connector plates needed between them. Corner rounding is applied only to the four outside corners of the complete assembled grid. Corners between neighboring modules stay square for clean, gap-free seams. Enable Shared edge slots to complete the SKADIS pattern across module seams. Two neighboring edges form full slots from matching halves, while four-module intersections use matching quarters and a clearance cutout in the rear connector. For four-module intersections, Open-bottom U clearance extends the rear opening to the lower connector edge. Hooks retain the normal board-thickness hanging edge without passing through an 8 mm-deep connector tunnel. The original Full-depth slot clearance remains available as an alternative. Custom module width and height use 40 mm increments to preserve slot and connector alignment. One complete module must fit your printer. Print layout separates all modules and adds the required connector plates plus optional spares. 🧪 Test Before a Large Print Use Slot fit test to compare five slot allowances with your printer and accessories. Use Connector and wall-mount test to verify the M4 x 12 connector fit, captured nut pockets, countersinks, and wall spacing before printing multiple modules. For a freestanding board, select Desktop stand and print Desktop stand fit test first. The complete layout uses two compact feet below the outside bottom corners, including for multi-module boards. Their curved edge braces and rounded bases print without supports. All corner holes use standardized BOSL2 M4 medium-clearance geometry. The same hole system works for wall mounting and hidden rear module connectors. ⚡ Fast Print Mode The optional Fast print construction keeps a thin front surface while retaining the configured full board thickness around the module perimeter, every SKADIS slot, and all M4 mounting holes. The defaults use a 1 mm front and 1.6 mm-wide reinforcement rims. This can reduce filament and print time, but it is intended for lighter accessories. Use the standard solid construction for heavy tools or high cantilever loads. Enable the optional Fast back lattice to connect the slot rims, M4 pads, and outside frame with low-profile diamond ribs. The lattice does not increase the module's maximum height and adds only a small material and time penalty. 📦 Ready-Made Bambu Profiles The collection includes 8 wall projects and 4 desktop projects : 20 x 20 cm wall examples: Standard, Standard without top surfaces, Fast, and Fast Reinforced. Larger Fast Reinforced wall boards: 40 x 20, 40 x 40, 60 x 40, and 80 x 60 cm. Fast Reinforced desktop boards: 20 x 20, 32 x 20, 40 x 20, and 20 x 32 cm. Standard without top surfaces uses the Standard model with the rear top layers disabled in the slicer. Fast and Fast Reinforced use the generator's lightweight geometry. These are different approaches, not the same setting. Each module is on its own plate. Accessories are on a separate plate and retain top/bottom shells with 15% infill. Ironing is disabled in every supplied profile. Actual material use and print time depend on your printer and settings. 🖨️ Print Notes Select Print layout before export. Modules print with the visible face on the build plate. Connector plates and ordinary spacers are separate support-free parts with the same wall-offset height; no shorter spacer is required beneath a connector. PETG is a practical first choice for workshop and utility boards. PLA works for many dry indoor installations.
