DESCRIPTION:

Multi purpose storage box for easy, secure storage of whatever you don't want to lose. With a simple snap fit front latch and filament pin hinge. Available in three sizes.

• Small internal dims: 90 × 56 × 35 mm

• Medium internal dims: 120 × 74 × 46 mm

• Large internal dims: 150 × 93 × 57 mm

FEATURES:

• No supports.

• No glue, screws, or bought hardware.

• Snap fit latch holds the box closed securely, yet opens easily using the front lips.

• Full length rear hinge, pinned with a length of 1.75 mm filament offcut.

• Prints in two parts, full assembly takes seconds.

• 180° hinge sits flat with the body when fully open, spreading load evenly across the joint.

• Multiple Size options to fit your use case, with Length, Width and Height mapped to the golden ratio.

This is version 1.0 of this box and I have a lot of ideas for custom versions for storing specific things, as well as a fully parametric version. So if you have any suggestions on changes you would like made to the base design, especially around the snap latch (Durability, longevity, to hard or easy to open/ close). Please let me know so the future designs can be as good as possible :)

PRINT SETTINGS:

• Recommended material: PLA

• Recommended infill: 20% (changing this may affect the latch)

• Bottom surface pattern: Monotonic Line

• Top surface pattern: Monotonic Line

• Raft: None

• Supports: None

• Filament used: PLA Matte Grey

ASSEMBLY:

1. Print the desired size Body and Lid.

2. Align the Body and Lid hinge in the open position and thread 1.75mm filament through the aligned hole. Once fully passed through, snip off the excess filament. (If tight run filament through each side of the hinge before putting together to clean out the holes.)

3. Snap the Lid closed onto the Body, then open it by holding the base, pressing in the lip on the front of the lid, and opening the box.

4. Do this a few times to slightly loosen the latch strength.
