YOU WILL NEED THE KIT TO BUILD THIS:
USA:
Bearswares:
Out of Darts:
AUS:
If you can't access these kits, please feel free to reach out and I will try to help you sort things out!
The files DO NOT include the lever parts, because they are available in the kits, and MUST be metal!
The intended use of the files here is that you buy or have a kit, and then print the blaster as is via the .3mf. The zip file and folders are intended to be supplemental, and are not necessary to actually make the blaster. There are extra parts in there, like different stock options, so you may want to check them out before you print, but everything you need is in the 3mf.
Howdy! The Vulture is a lever action dart blaster, fully emulating the classic cowboy action you expect from a lever action... but without shells. The blaster is 9+1 capacity, and capable of over 250 fps.
Files include the .3mf for printing, the zip folder with all the individual files, and the build guide pdf. The zip file also includes the parts for making a shell version via the kit from Bear.
Here's the hardware list (though you'll still need the custom metal parts and mag spring so I recommend just getting the dang kit):
These files are not directly compatible with the Shellington Labs Wingchester Mk3 kits. If you have one of those kits, you can use the lever and linkage from it for this blaster, but the other parts will not be compatible.
To explain this one just a bit (and you can't stop me), this is the culmination of a project that I started sometime in 2019, which was the wingchester. I played games with mag fed springers and felt that it didn't suit my playstyle. I wanted something I could keep loading up as I played, with a high enough capacity to make it through an encounter. I didn't think about it that much beyond that, but I'd been working on a shell fed lever action that would become the wingchester. Now that I look back on it... it makes sense. My favorite gun in every video game is always the lever action, followed distantly by snipers and shotguns. It made sense to have a blaster that I could constantly press the reload button on, and as a springer it would be a little more ammo conservative. I ran some version of the original for years and years, but eventually the meta of the group changed to something a bit more... powerful. I needed range I couldn't get, and I went through two other versions of the blaster before I got to this one.
So enters the Plunger In Grip system. By moving the plunger mech out of the receiver I was able to substantially increase the draw internally, from 55mm to 110mm at it's max. Which means... twice as much. I went from being outgunned at almost every encounter to being able to competitively hold my own in any shootout. I've maxed my personal blaster out to 275 fps, up from the inconsistent 185 I was getting before. It took many years and many many iterations to get here, but I think this blaster represents the pinnacle of what you can expect from a lever action, and I don't think I've pushed it all the way to the maximum you can get out of it. But the final piece of the blaster puzzle was, sadly, the shells. They're a ton of fun, and I think have very legitimate utility, but for something that's beyond a niche or dedicated use case. It turns out solving the problem of darts in a tube mag was pretty easy, and it works very well. Me and my sister both ran these for the entirety of Ragnaroctober, and I had ZERO issues with the feed mech. It got me through 8 hours of hvz, and through all of the competitive. If you build it right, it will work, and it will work well. It's less fun without the shells, truly, but it's also a heavy hitting blaster that you can pick up with no gear, no mags, just a pocket of darts, and play all day.
Later on, I made a bolt action with the same mech, and a martini henry. The bolt action went on to be adapted by Mighty Shrub into the Smiley. If you noticed the similarities there, that's why.

1/23/26:
Added a blank upper bolt cover for customization, found in the base directory on this page. A blank STL and a .step of the original upper that can be changed
I've also updated the build guide and BOM to better match the blaster and each other.
2/20/26
I've uploaded an entire new zip of all of the files. There are two versions of the files, one for the original Bearwares kit, and one for the upcoming Out of Darts kit. There are also .3mf files included in this update.
There is also one MAJOR qol update, which is that I've changed all of the mag files to use a twist lock system instead of threading. This should make everything much much easier to build and more reliable.
2/21/26
Also changed the barrels to be twist lock as well. It worked so well it just made sense to change that for everything.
2/23/26
For now I've removed the OOD kit, because that will be added later as a remix by Out of Darts
2/25/26
Have been informed the follower is too long with the new twist lock parts, so that's been adjusted.
3/10/26
Nothing major, but added the grub screw spots back into the breech, and added small chamfers for slight strength improvement on all the barrel/mag parts. I've also added a new blank upper, as well as .step for editing that one.
3/14/26
Also nothing major, but everything has been simplified. Files have minor improvements, and the mag cap is the proper file now.
3/21/26
Updated the build guide to have better directions about the chicago screw. Just for posterity here, make sure to use the narrower/flatter side on the right side of the lever, so that there's maximum clearance on the lever and bolt. There should also be, for those who might have issues, a bolt mk5 in the zip folder that has more clearance for that reason.
3/22/26
Added a 3mf for the micro bcar, since so many people have been asking for it
4/20/26
Added a few extra files in the zip folder, mostly. Various files and I don't remember what all of them are, but specifically there are two new lifters with extended tails for a stronger lift. They are untested, but if you have problems with the lifter falling short, they may help you with that problem. They're located in the extras/tuning folder
4/26/26
Added more files to the tuning folder, specifically different sized breech parts for tuning the oring fit better, and two variations on tightness for the elevator. It seems like some of the 012 orings out there may slightly different specs or tolerances are getting weird, so the parts should help with that if you have that specific issue.
9/7/26
Added a bunch of somewhat tested files into the extras folder. Specifically, we've got a barrel and mag that are joined together so that there's no misalignment and it leaves the metal barrel exposed for easier bcar use. I've also uploaded adjusted and cleaned up files for the shell version, which should be better than before.
