I just received the newest Flashforge AD5X multicolor printer and I needed something to redirect the poop chute since the back of the printer is hardly accessible. I tried to design something that bolt on the frame but it was hard to get something solide so I ended up using magnets. After a few experimental version (still available if you like to see), here is a more efficient and better looking solution. If you do print this model, please give me your feedback. To help me help you, if you have an issue, please share a picture of what is wrong.

Releases

V1.0 New version by keeping the direct slop concept. The poop chute is >4 times lighter and also easier to print. The bucket is bigger and better looking. It will work either if you have the enclosure or not. After a few weeks of testing this version works flawlessly. 

Previous version/ experimental version: 

V0.4 Make the chute direct (no 90 degrees turn) to make the filament fall better and for compatibility with enclosure mods. The bucket will need to be redesigned. 

V0.3 First release to be published on Printables.

Additional materials

• Superglue (needed to join the parts) - example 

• 4 magnets (diameter = 15mm, thickness = 1.5-2 mm) - example 

  • Alternatively you can use 6 smaller magnets (diameter = 8-10 mm, thickness = 1.5-2 mm) - example 

• White grease (this is optional but if you have issue with poop filament not sliding in the poop chute you can put a light film of white grease in the chute to help the filament slide down) - example

Installation

1. Glue the magnets on the back of the poop chute (recommendation use 4x 15mm magnets or 6x 8-10mm magnets)

2. Install in place, make you to align with the rectangle of chute, and the bottom of the chute outlet must be straight horizontal

3. Place the bucket

Print instructions

• Nozzle:  0.4 mm nozzle 

• Material: PETG or PLA (not recommended, some people reported the PLA filament poop stick to the PLA chute when exiting the printer)

• Wall: minimum 3

• Infill: 15% (but not really needed since the walls are small)

• Supports: print flat the poop chute with minimal tree support, the bucket doesn't need support
