Halloween is over, it's about time to start thinking about Christmas decorations.
The "branches" of this Christmas tree are made of snowflakes. There are 15 layers of snowflakes of different sizes, which are simply pushed together with the spacer sleeve (trunk) facing downwards. The tree is completed with a foot at the bottom and a star at the top.
You can glue the parts together, but depending on printer and material they might hold together by friction and then the tree can be taken apart again to save space when packing.
The tree is quite slim, if you like it a bit stockier, you can set the Z-height lower for the individual layers (layers 1 to 15) in the slicer.
The snowflakes can also be used individually for decoration, e.g. to hang them in the window or on the Christmas tree. To do this, turn them upside down in the slicer and "sink" the spacer sleeve into the building plate so that it is not printed.
Only the star needs support under the lower points when printing.
Version V2 of the tree with following changes:
- no wooden rod needed, parts are simply pushed together
- distance between snowflakes reduced from 10 to 9.2mm
- thickness of snowflakes reduced by 0.2 mm to save some printing time
- overall height of tree reduced by around 15mm, tree now somewhat stockier

Halloween ist vorbei, es wird langsam Zeit, an Weihnachtsdekoration zu denken.
Bei diesem Weihnachtsbaum bestehen die "Zweige" aus Schneeflocken. Es sind 15 Schichten in verschiedener Größe, die einfach, mit der Abstandshülse (Baumstamm) nach unten, zusammengesteckt werden. Vervollständigt wird der Baum durch einen Fuß am unteren und einen Stern am oberen Ende.
Ich empfehle die Teile zu kleben, aber je nach Drucker und Material, können sie auch so zusammenhalten und der Baum lässt sich dann zum platzsparenden Verpacken wieder auseinandernehmen.
Der Baum ist ziemlich schlank, wenn du ihn etwas gedrungener magst, kannst du für die einzelnen Schichten (layer 1 bis 15) im Slicer die Z-Höhe niedriger einstellen.
Die Schneeflocken lassen sich übrigens auch einzeln zur Dekoration verwenden, z.B. um sie ins Fenster oder an den Weihnachtsbaum zu hängen. Dazu im Slicer auf den Kopf drehen und die Abstandshülse in der Bauplatte "versenken" damit sie nicht mitgedruckt wird.
Nur der Stern benötigt Support unter den unteren Zacken beim Drucken.
Version V2 des Baums mit folgenden Änderungen
- kein Holzstab mehr erforderlich, Teile werden einfach zusammengedrückt
- Abstand zwischen Schneeflocken von 10 auf 9,2 mm reduziert
- Dicke der Schneeflocken um 0,2 mm reduziert um etwas Druckzeit zu sparen
- Gesamthöhe des Baums dadurch ca. 15mm kleiner, Baum jetzt etwas gedrungener
Die Teile der alten Version sind weiterhin verfügbar (Ordner V1)
EDIT 29. Nov. Habe den Stern (V2) modifiziert, damit er im dünnen Bereich etwas stbiler ist.
