It's important for children's shoes to be the correct size. Shoes that are too small or too large can hinder foot growth, cause discomfort, and even lead to long-term health issues. Properly fitting shoes support the natural development of the feet, provide stability, and promote healthy walking.
My grandson is getting his first shoes, so the Measuring Tool by NotSure caught my eye. It’s pretty handy! But it only measures foot length and doesn’t show the shoe size. That got me thinking about tweaking the model. It now shows the required EU shoe sizes from 11 to 36.
I tagged mine as a remix, even though I actually designed it completely from scratch.
Printing information
The STL files are correctly aligned.
Layer height: 0.2mm
Infill:Â 10%
Support: none
The tread pattern on the underside requires bridging. No support is necessary for this, but to make it easier for your printer to perfectly print these layers, I recommend the following approach:
- Different filaments handle bridging with varying success. PLA usually performs better than PETG. Therefore, use a filament that you know handles bridging fairly well.
 - Bridging works better at a lower print speed. Reduce the speed to 50% for layers #5 through #7 (1.00 to 1.40 mm).
If you like the two-tone model in the photos, then make the following color changes:
- start with color 1
- change to color 2 at layer #5 (1.00mm)
- change to color 1 at layer #9 (1.80mm)
- change to color 2 at layer #24 (4.80mm)
- change to color 1 at layer #26 (5.20mm)
I am looking forward to your Makes! :-)
