2D plate / wall display for the astronaut space suit patent by NASA from 1973. Reflects designs from the later Apollo missions (15-17) as well as the Skylab suit. 

Inspired by Ken Mills' patent art 2D plates (https://www.printables.com/@nightfallvt ), I decided to make one of my own. Check out his designs for similar work. I made my plate to be the same dimensions as his and other makers' wall plates (the odd dimensions of 192.71mm x 128.19 mm).

You can also use any other of the various plate frames of the same size on Printables, including ones with LED backlights, assuming you print the background in a light colored PLA.

Printing Instructions:

• Recommended: Infill: 100%, 0.25mm nozzle, 0.12mm layer height, slower printing
• I would recommend sticking with the 0.25mm nozzle, as the details at 0.12mm/0.10mm are much cleaner vs a 0.4mm nozzle at 0.15mm/0.10mm. Printing with a 0.4mm will make most of the text illegible and make everything much fuzzier (though will print 5x faster). 
  • The black background with white text was printed with 0.25mm, looks clean
  • The white background with black text was printed with 0.4, looks blurrier 
• I printed using Input Shaper because I am impatient, but I would recommend printing slower using the non-IS profiles, as you will get much better details. Slower will also preventing stringing on the text/graphics.
• The gcode I included specifies a swap at the 1.16mm mark. I printed the bottom in 1mm in black PLA, and the text/graphics in white PLA. You can swap them to do the standard black-on-white, or whatever color combo you want.
• When the print is finished, allow for the bed to fully cool! Otherwise your plate will warp.
