About:
I started with the blank keycap provided by Matej2510, added chamfers to the edges of the channel where the stem accepts the switch, and added letters and numbers in the font Fancy Comic, I wanted to make a keycap where the letters jumped out at you, while still being a solid and functional keycap.
Printing:
I made my set out of PETG on a heated bed with my Anycubic Vyper. A couple of key stems shifted in the early layers, and one of the keys shifted later in the printing, so I'd recommend using a raft. No supports needed, but based on the insides of my printed keycaps, I'd suggest a filament that bridges well.
For reference, I printed mine at 240C at a speed of 35mm/s, and with a layer height of 0.15mm.
The Files:
I just printed the keycaps from the file with the complete set, but I have included two folders with model variations:
- one folder with individual letters and the numbers grouped as a set together. I thought that would be useful for doing keys in different colors, and for doing a test run on an individual keycap before printing the complete set.
- one folder with the entire set, but the bases are separated from the characters. I needed to do this to get a good rendering, but it might also be helpful for anyone wanting to do a dual extrusion version.
