A set of 6 ornaments for your ornament needs. No assembly required.
This set features variations of this geometric bauble concept, decorated with faceted sides. Particularly interesting when printed with high gloss filaments, reflective/silky filaments, and multicolor filaments.
The ornaments feature a hole for your hanging thread of choice. The hole is just big enough to fit 1.75mm filament, so that you can use filament leftovers if you want (pretty effective with very soft tpu and alike). For mine I used transparent TPU freely extruded with a .4mm nozzle.
I designed these to be printed in vase mode, but you might need to switch to full models depending on your printer calibration, as the models are sharp and might spring around with a little overextrusion, if the corners come in contact with the nozzle. I had no issues printing in vase mode with transparent PLA, but silk PLA forced me to slow down to the point where full printing was just as fast.
PrusaSlicer and SuperSlicer seem to have a couple issues with these in vase mode, I suggest trying Cura for it.
The ornaments print very well at .4 (and under) and .8 nozzle sizes, so feel free to try both. Smaller nozzle sizes will get a better result, especially with shiny filaments, but they might give you more fragile results and small gaps on some slopes when printing in vase mode.
No supports required.
Some of the models are pretty elaborate. For this reason, I added highly decimated versions of each model (marked with “D”), in case your PC or printer struggle to work with dense geometry.
