I've seen a few different TPU laces out there, but none of them worked well for me. They kept pulling out when I put on and took off my shoes, completely defeating the purpose. So, I designed these and they work great. There are two different styles, depending on the size of your shoes' eyelets. I only have black TPU at the moment, but different colors could be fun!

Steps:

1. Put on your shoes with the shoelaces tied.

2. Measure the distance across between eyelets (center to center) in millimeters for each pair of eyelets (See photo).

3. Print the corresponding laces with flexible filament (The models include numbers in case you want to reprint to swap colors or something later and don't want to remeasure).

CHOSE YOUR EYELET VERSION

the Small Eyelet Laces were designed for ~4mm punched holes, as shown in the black shoes to the right (though the actual size of the hole isn't actually very much different from the metal eyelets, I found that these needed a smaller anchor as they are fairly stiff and the larger anchors are very difficult to pull through) and;
the Large Eyelet Laces were designed for 5 to 6mm metal eyelets, as shown on the gray shoes

Installation: The anchors should be tight going through the eyelets (that way your laces will stay in place when you are putting on and taking off your shoes). They pull through relatively easily using needle nose pliers if needed.

Printing Recommendations: I‘ve included a sample .3mf file with my settings for your reference (with my setup each lace takes from about 10-12 min. to print).

When working with TPU, I prefer to complete 1 object at a time as to avoid stinging between objects.
9 Perimeters (I prefer to print these laces with all perimeters). In my opinion, they look a lot cleaner without infill markings).
.20mm Layers
100% infill (if you aren't printing with all perimeters)
Print Slow! (it's TPU and an extra minute isn't gong to hurt). I print at 20mm/s but check the recommended settings for your filament and print at the lower end of the range.
